What causes Stained Teeth?

We use a Teeth Whitening system that is safe, effective and cost-efficient. This system is not only extremely effective, but has become very popular because of the convenience. The patient is very comfortable during the whitening procedure and leaves the dental practice smiling. There is a 95% success rate of whitening the teeth irreversibly. When hair is bleached it grows out, this is not the case with teeth. Teeth remain white after bleaching. It is a semi-permanent process which can last for years. There is no pain during, or after the whitening process.
The procedure itself is painless and the patient is very comfortable. In very few cases there may be slight sensitivity but this does not last longer than a few hours.
It is a 1.5 – 2 hour process. The patient is relaxed and watches one of the latest movies ( NETFLIX/ PRIME/ HOTSTAR/ VOOT). At the end of the session, the patient leaves with WHITE teeth. Post procedure, it is important to avoid foods like curry, red wine, soya sauce, beetroot and food with colourants…..for two days only and then revert back to your normal diet.
FAQ
The gel used throughout the whitening treatment is a product of extensive research. In chair, it can lighten your teeth up to 14 shades lighter in about one hour. It takes approximately two weeks to achieve this result at home.
The gel is hydrogen peroxide based and works by breaking down deep stains on the tooth surface. It is safe to use in the human mouth and does not damage or alter tooth structure. Many of our own dentists enjoy whitening their own teeth, giving it the ultimate tick of approval.
A light-activated tooth whitening gel is applied to the teeth at four separate intervals whilst you sit comfortably in the dental chair for about one hour. During this time you are able to listen to music or watch Netflix and chill.
If you would rather use the take-home formula, this does not require any light. You will simply need to place the gel in your customised whitening trays, and wear your trays for approximately 45 minutes at a time. Do this for approximately one to two weeks for wonderful results. Your dentist will walk you through the exact steps and give you a care sheet to follow.
In rare instances, some people experience temporary sensitivity. This can be easily managed with de-sensitising materials such as Toothmousse
For long-lasting results, try to minimise the consumption of tea, coffee, red wine and smoking, as these substances may re-stain the teeth during and after the whitening process. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, it is not recommended that you use any whitening products.
Overall, we recommend that you avoid any foods and drinks that would stain a white shirt for the duration of your whitening process and the following 48 hours. A comprehensive list will be provided to you during your appointment.
